Sled Dog Experience Demo

introducing children to Dog sled racing

As part of our Frog Lake race, we offer a demo that allows children the opportunity to stand on the runners while a racing dog pulls them a short distance. Dogs are provided by club members, and speed is controlled by a Cascade Sled Dog Club volunteer who paces with the dog and sled.

This is a separate opportunity from the Junior Race, which is a 2 mile race run both Saturday and Sunday with dogs from the Junior Musher’s home.

The children’s demonstration takes place on Saturday, January 18th 2025 after the other racers have completed the course. The time of start will depend on the number of entries we receive in the main race as well as the conditions for the day. If you are hoping to attend, please come so with an open schedule and lots of hand warmers. For other tips about enjoying the race day - check out our spectator tips!

For those registered individuals, the coordinator of this event will send out an email the week of January 13th confirming a more approximate start time for this event. For this reason, please make sure you provide a valid email address at registration.

A parent or guardian must be present at the race to sign the associated waiver for their child to participate.

To register, fill out the form below.

There is no entry fee but participation is capped depending on volunteers for the day and dogs available.
