When people think dog sledding, they picture Alaska, but the Pacific Northwest has a thriving mushing community though that you can join!

There are several different clubs across Oregon, Idaho, N. California and Montana that provide the same community and education that Cascade Sled Dog Club to their respective areas.

Members of different clubs are encouraged to travel to races hosted by other organizations to enjoy new trails with their dogs and share knowledge.

If you aren’t in the Portland-Metro area of Oregon, but still want to get started - check out these other clubs in your area!


Oregon

With races in Central and Southern Oregon, this thriving mushing community takes advantage of a large variety of trail systems.

While not an official ‘club’, this group of people meet up and introduce folks in the Salem/Willamette Valley area to small-team dryland sports like scootering and bikejoring.


Washington

Seattle-Area group focused on promoting dog-powered sports for small teams.

Hosting events at the Crystal Springs Sno-Park and in Cle Elum, this club partners with K9 Scooters NW to offer larger races with big teams and distances.


Idaho & Montana

This club hosts two major races - Priest Lake in the snow and the Dirt Rendezvous for dryland. This club knows the area trails in the Spokane, WA and N. Idaho area well.

This Montana club hosts the Darby Dog Derby on snow and the Dirt Derby on dryland each year. They offer both large and small team options.

Another Montana club, which helps coordinate several races across the state including some mid and long distance races that are Iditarod qualifiers.


N. CAlifornia

Based out of N. California, this club hosts the Chester Winterfest Sled Dog Race in Chester, CA.
